Somehow the Becker Media Forum machine has neglected to keep me updated on the last couple of posts so I nearly missed out on this gem of high level news reporting.. And what a brilliant piece it is ! Our heroes are masterfully presented here, that's for sure ! The ever Majestic Mr. Fagen just doesn't seem to accurately grace the page as Don.. Maybe it's me, but I'm picturing Don Knots, or Don Adams.. You can get a real sense of how much they're struggling here, it's hard to cover the check for cheeseburgers and beers based on remunerated funds when no one wants to hire you.. These lads Can't Get No Respect.. Man, it brings back a flood of memories... Every Guy in the Free World, who was in his twenties in 1970, went through the very same ordeal ! What a Great time to be alive...
Wow Matt that is an awesome find! Never saw that article before and it certainly adds a little color to the "dark period" of our heroes. I don't think anyone in the media ever used "Don" again when referring to Donald. Also, I think there is an error by the writer when talking about the Jay & Americans business entity: pretty sure it was called JATA Enterprises rather than JANA. But anyway, reading this gave me a couple of good laughs!!

This is Cool ! Thank you Matt ! Lary
Now I don't feel so bad having to knock on a dozen doors to get a one night gig.....I need to suck it up. Fascinating.

Interesting to imagine reading this at the time, compared to how it feels reading it now!!
