    down in the bottom

Have been listening deeply to Dr. B today, especially to his many allusions to the tattered scrim between this life and... other, nether dimensions. I so miss his presence in this one and send out love and peaceful, harmonious wishes to his family and all the fandom.

I really like what you wrote, M. "tattered scrim" - indeed. It's as though he spent so much time looking at it, peering into it, or just plain knowing of it, that it just pulled him straight through, one too-early day.

Wow. Only one comment before mine. Wow.

Moderator,... are we doomed as a species? Never mind. I already know the answer.

I remember when I first heard this as the first solo song ever by WB, and the first line was "In case you're wondering it's alive and well", the first thing that hit me was that he was also sort of saying "In case you're wondering I'm alive and well". And I said to myself, Welcome back Walter. Sigh.

Hi D-Mod and all - In honor of Walter Becker's birthday and in the spirit of the potential vulnerable mortification of showing old work not intended for public consumption (like the myriad musical treasures this site generously offers), I thought I'd put up this little marker on paper cartoon of a well-known SD photo portrait that I made way back in grade school (I found it in a box of even more embarrassing things).

Caricature, obviously, is not about flattery, but capturing a kinda holistic vibe, which, even all these years later, I thought it had an impish, playful energy I could still get behind in adulthood. Anyway, yeah, a little embarrassing, some "art" from a misunderstood youth, etc - but honor, love and respect to the dearly missed Mr. Becker. I hope I captured even a tiny hint of the vibe and a dollop of impish, playful energy on top. xo

Also, sorry if I posted this in a strange place/thread on the forum. Please feel free to move it to somewhere else more appropriate - if such an "appropriate" place for this thing is even conceivable. ;)

I think it's very amusing ☺️ [Edit: and a skillful rendering]. . Hmmm..I've collected a bunch of drawings/caricatures of them from the web over the years...maybe if we ever get around to redesigning the site architecture, we'll make a place for visual art, fan or otherwise. (the problem with my collection is that half of them don't have attribution).
