On this sad anniversary I intend whipping out the Ludwigs and playing along with every recorded piece of music Walter left us. By the end of day I should be one wasted 72 old drummer with a big ol' smile on my face. I wouldn't have a lot of the wonderful material to be jammin' on were it not for WBM so I just wanted to say another big mahalo for all you do and have done and will continue to do, may it be so. 11 ToW sounds like a good place as any to start so...1,2,3...
I still listen to 11 Tracks of Whack regularly. It’s one of my go to prized CDs in my vast collection of music. :)
Here is my long winded story of 11TW and me. So there I was a young kid and musician in the 90s discovering various forms of music while also playing in bands.
The music stores were going out of business and I was picking up all sorts of weird stuff from the clearance bins just for no good reason other than to spend money. I had only know of Walter as the producer of the Rickie Lee Jones record from a few years earlier which i really loved and also from a Rosie Vela record I had from way back. I picked up 11 Tracks of Whack and it became one of my favourite releases in my collection.
Listeners go both ways with 11 Tracks. But even folks who don't care for the album must bow down to the awesomeness of some of that guitar work (Adam Rogers of Lost Tribe)
Really appreciate this little glimpse into 11 Tracks. I still listen to the album pretty regularly . . . the "Junkie Girl" guitar solo made my shortlist of best guitar solos ever.

11 Tracks of Whack is one of the best albums ever made. I revere it.
At least for me, one of the best albums I continue to listen to. I wish there were more!

".....and ANOTHER thing!"
Thank you for this. The diet cola line at the end is hilarious!
