- Eagles referenceIn Everything ElseJune 4, 2018I think the only real depth of that troupe came from Henley in End of Innocence. Even then, not disguised very well.00
- Remembering Walter BeckerIn Everything ElseAugust 21, 2018Yes, D-Mod, you have identified the location correctly! Imagine game-show-like confetti falling here. Ding, ding, ding! You wanted stories, and I don’t have very many, but do remember two. Here is one: The first time Walter helped me, I had no idea who he was. I was just impressed that this total stranger would help me. So I thanked him for being altruistic. The moment the word left my mouth, I thought, “Oh, cr*p, most men probably don’t even know what that word means.” To my amazement, he snapped back instantly with, “If I’m altruistic, does that make me an al-truant?” Not only did he know the word, he knew how to turn it into a pun!00
- Favorite WB guitar solos?In Everything ElseDecember 7, 2019@Moderator: D-Mod Thanks!0
- Eagles referenceIn Everything ElseJune 4, 2018TBD - in that episode Yacht Rock took what was a subtext in reality -- never really said outloud -- that The Eagles felt inferior but would never admit it and who beat up the nerdy 2 (with sales etc) as conpensation. I was startled by how close to the truth it was. I guess it was noticable to a careful listener and article-reader....00
- Favorite WB guitar solos? In Everything ElseJuly 24, 2018I agree Matt, that ascending guitar part right near the end of Gaucho, where he quotes the "what do you think I'm yelling for" is beautifully done and perfect for that song.00
- Post Steely Dan Photos of WalterIn Everything ElseJuly 25, 2019Wow -- just visited the "Low High Countries" Slideshow/movies and it's getting like No Love. I mean, 2 hearts (likes), 3 hearts? I *knew* it was risky to post home movies! I mean, obviously I personally see NO END to the charm and humor of WB...as it should be....but maybe they just violate the default image people have of how he spends his time and how he (can) act. Live and Burn......0
- First Dan show without WBIn Everything ElseMay 31, 2019...actually I'm not 100% sure it was used for the trumpet, but they used the head height mic for introductions00
- Post Steely Dan Photos of WalterIn Everything ElseJune 12, 2019Hi - trying to parse this -- do you mean pics of Walter in the 80's are thin? Or pics in general? To the latter, I refer you to the slideshow index, a growing repository of photos and vids from a variety of sources walterbeckermedia.com/slideshow-index If you mean 80s shots in particular, although there are some scattered among locations (some of the Polaroids, for example, on this site that appear within posts), you're correct there's been no collection specifically of WB in the 80s. Although that could be done, there are some limiting conditions. Please try to state again the take-home message of your post above, so I can be more certain about what you're after. As to your "How did that happen ? I can only guess why .".. I'm coming up empty on what you mean with this (it might be a language issue?). If you would like this understood as well, I'm afraid --sorry to be do dense -- I'd need more on this too in order to catch your meaning, Thx! d-mod0
