If you know Vancouver - and maybe on Slideshow #1 there are pix of you guys (well, W. & a shy photographer's partial reflection) way up high in a West End hotel, overlooking English Bay? maybe on the way to/from to Princess Louisa Inlet ("Until his hat floats...")? - it's in the funny, pie-shaped triangular block where Kingsway, Main & Broadway all join, just southeast of downtown. I'll send a pic of Framed Walter, once installed.

@Moderator: D-Mod DB: Just seeing this question now, because after the street party & Nightfly Night I flew to off-grid California for a few weeks with my camera(s), just back on the WWWs now. The short answer to your question is that Queens to Midtown takes about 4.5 hrs by foot, & rather than braving a scary tunnel, one takes a little ferry from western Queens to Manhattan. The other answer is that I haven't heard TIMB yet because as the flash drives were being handed out, I was picking up a signed 8" x 11" glossy - THANKS! It survived my backpacks and several flights, & is going in a "little frame...something cheap" (Bowie) & then up on a wall of prized stuff in my Vancouver bookstore. So, picture Walter frowning gently down above the till from here to eternity...

Can this be a "Thank you?" thread? I hope it can. Walked back to my midtown hotel from Queens, the proud owner of a new Circus Monkey [sic] t-shirt & a signed glossy, knowing the name of that Maui studio wher--"HYPERBOLIC SOUND"! So thanks to both mods - one for his eloquent speech, which had me laughing and nodding along, & the other, who chose, maybe deliberately, not to speak, maybe believing the generosity of spirit & humor on display throughout the day would say more than she ever could. Thanks to the participants, especially the UK journalist dressed like Screamin' Lord Sutch's older brother, who apparently has more room in his head for WB-themed trivia than all the rest of us together. & to the weather god(s), for those brief flashes of sunlight, for the gentle rustling of still-green leaves overhead. Thanks to everyone involved. Your work is registered and seen.

I heard the 2011 solo- or club-date rumors too, & socked some money aside, & told my staff that they could expect me to disappear on short to no notice. Figured I'd be going to some small room in NYC, or LA, or (& maybe this was just wishful thinking) Maui, where the audience might only consist of a hundred or hundred & fifty bodies, tops. Not to be, & I understand the cost involved in hiring & rehearsing sidemen. & etc., "charts of doom," transportation, catering & the rest so maybe there was a bit of wishful thinking involved. & still...

Aw thanks DB. That view means a lot to me. My partner & I went to P___ in 2012 & poked around for a few days in between other, more casual island pursuits (swimming; walking; making art-photographs; meeting mongeese & wild chickens) & met some folks who, upon realizing we were a/ Canadian, and, b/ shy, and, c/ not demanding or otherwise intrusive on artists' personal privacy, kindly shared some memories & other details with us. The closest we ever got to Channel One was the H__'___a overlook at dusk before our Mama's reservation, the dull thump of breakers audible all the way up the cliff, a few brave surfers out there in the dark blue April water. It was totally worth the bumpy 5+ hours in the air to & from Vancouver. Thanks again for that view, & all that you do here.

Am I wrong to think that that very quick initial drone-shot, those two chairs, that green lawn, might be somewhere on the coast near P___, on the north shore, where Sayan laid part of Walter to rest? If so, thanks for including it. It's a good view, something a gentleman avocado farmer would have rightfully been proud of.
