Although not my favourite Walter song it is my favourite Walter lyric. It is the lyric, that after hearing the song played at a Steely Dan concert, made me buy 11 Tracks of Whack. That album made me realize why I enjoyed the band so much. It was the brilliant, humble, smarter-than-us-all, yet still a craving to connect brilliance (but not too much-because we could never really know him ).
As much as I wish I could have met him..,,I hope that he is sitting somewhere wrapped in a Balinese ikat wondering why we’re wasting this glorious day trying to get inside the lyrics yeah the mind of a man who was brilliantly broken and was wise enough to see the beauty in even the darkest moments. To the genius of WB and I hope all who read this have spent this long weekend listening to his genius and living. Just the opinion and rant of a wee Canadian fan Be safe
