I understand what you are all saying...the music and wonderful performances will continue. But for me, SD without Walter - my heart just isn't into it. There was something special about seeing the creator: the author of those incredible lyrics and superfine sound. It's diminished without his presence.

Ha! That's great. I wonder if that's Mark's CD? BTW, in answer to your original question, Circus Money holds up extremely well. I sometimes stop listening to all Walter and SD music for a while, then go back to it so it's a little fresh, and I always am amazed at the clarity, the pristine-ness (is that a word?) of the recording. His voice as clear and warm as if he were right there, and the music just sweeps me away anew. It's a gem.

Tangental to the release of C$... The morning after the show at the Beacon, several of us went out to breakfast. To our surprise, Abe Vigoda was at the diner as well. Matt or Jim may remember more details, but when Mr. Vigoda was leaving, Mark Drinan (RIP) went outside with him and showed him the CS liner notes (he had been mentioned on the second to last page) and explained who WB was and, I think, gave him his copy of C$.

D-Mod, I already had bought a copy, so I did not pickup another. I suspect all Walter's fans had already gotten a copy by that time - it had been out a few months. Matthew, I totally agree.

I believe it was the Beacon in NY. I remember him saying it, and I attended shows at NY & Boston that year - I'm pretty sure it wasn't in Boston.

Thanks for postig that song. It's hard to imagine that we won't see him perform again. I, too, would love to hear a recording of Slims. Below is a photo taken at Chumash Casino in 2007. I was fortunate to have had a front row seat and sat next to the house photographer and he sent me all his photos from that evening.
